William Harold Cook. Services were held Monday, February 6, 2006 at Calvary Chapel Albuquerque with interment at The Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors for Harold Cook, 76. Harold went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 2, 2006. A resident of Albuquerque NM since 1952, Harold was born August 28, 1929 in Lawndale NC, the eldest son of Ivy and Lurene Cooke. A veteran of the U.S. Army (1947-48) and U.S. Air Force (1950-54), he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant after his service to our country both at home and overseas. Harold worked many years at ACF. Harold was a former weatherman for KOAT-TV, before becoming involved in Bernalillo County Government where he was employed until his retirement in 1992. Harold is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Cook; his children, Iris Kirsch and her husband, Karl, Don Cook and his fiancee, Sandra Clark and son, Cameron of Albuquerque, Holly Smith and her husband, Gordon, grandson, Conner Smith, all of Austin TX. Three brothers include Charlie Cooke and wife, Barbara, Walter Cooke and wife, Betty, Steve Cooke and wife, Jane, all of Lawndale NC. Harold loved the Lord Jesus, placing his hopes and trusts in Him alone as the only means of salvation. Harold was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
