Obituary for BARTLETT

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday February 07, 2006

Jack Bartlett, 75, long-time Albuquerque resident, passed away February 4, 2006. Jack was born December 13, 1930 in Plainfield, NJ. He joined the US Navy at 18 and served in Panama as an electronics technician; afterward with that training he began his long career as an engineer. His work in missile design and testing led him from the east coast to White Sands Missile Range, where he worked in the 1960s. In the 1970s, after his two daughters were grown and on their own, he went back to college and earned a degree from UNM. He was accepted to UNM Law School, but decided after all to stay in the high tech business until he retired. He is survived by daughter Melissa Macpherson and husband Angus Macpherson of Albuquerque; daughter Kerry Sutterfield and husband Rich Sutterfield of Denver; grandchildren Hannah Macpherson, Ari Macpherson, Jessica Ellis, Jenny Archuleta, Jamie Acuna, and Jeff Zimmerman; and five great-grandchildren; along with his two sisters Sue Kihn of Lewes, Delaware and Judy Murdoch of Augusta, Georgia, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. We will join together to remember Jack at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Princeton Place (500 Louisiana Blvd. NE), where he spent the last nine years of his life. The family heartily thanks the staff of Princeton Place for their care for Jack over the years, and Zia Hospice for their extraordinary help to him and the family. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Zia Hospice Foundation, 4141 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
