Meliton Lucero went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2006 at the age 87. He was born on March 18, 1918 in Anton Chico, NM. Meliton was a member of the V.F.W. Mr. Lucero is survived by his brother, Ernest Lucero; nieces, Beatrice Lucero, Nora Lucero, Juanita Anaya, Lena and Raymond Martinez, Theresa and Anthony Chavez, Cathy Marez, and Cindy Marez; nephews, Rick Espalin and wife, Jeanne, Joe Marez and wife, Theresa, Tony Marez and wife, Grace, Pete Marez, and Tony Jaramillo; and his best friend, Johnny Martinez. The Family would like to thank Hospice of New Mexico, Lindsy and Nora Tourville for all they have done during their time of need. Visitations will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the Rosary in the Celebration of Life Room also at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearer will be Robert Martinez, Brian Lucero, Albert Lucero, Isaac Jaramillo, Eric Jaramillo, and Ezequiel Espalin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Espalin, Raymond Martinez, Ivan Chavez, and Stevan Espalin. Services are in the care of: GARCIA MORTUARY 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222
