Obituary for KLATTENHOFF

Alma Concordia Klattenhoff, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, was called home to Heaven by Christ, her Savior on Monday, January 23, 2006. Surrounded by loved ones, Alma died at the age of 86 in an Albuquerque hospital after a brief illness. She is survived by her adoring husband of 61 years, Pastor Wilbur Klattenhoff; and five loving daughters along with their husbands and families: Carol and Jeff Mullen and their daughter, Megan Mullen; Susan and Glenn Weber and their daughters, Michele Weber, Carrie Busch and husband, Ryan Busch; Linda and Dave Parmeter and their children, Matt Parmeter and wife, Rebecca Parmeter and Leslie Newberry and her husband, Mark Newberry; Nancy Lacher and her husband, John Lacher; and Kathy DeLucas and her husband, Ed DeLucas. Alma was passionate about her family and church. She will be remembered most for always putting the needs of others above her own. This was exemplified even in her final days. She regaled in cooking, grocery shopping, quilting, sewing, and in being a model wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active in her church, Christ Lutheran in Albuquerque and enjoyed many years as a pastor's wife meeting the needs of the church in the Altar Society, Women's Guild, and in supporting the youth group. Alma was the seventh of ten children born in Uniontown, MO on March 13, 1919. She met Wilbur in St. Louis while he was attending the Concordia Lutheran Seminary. They were married on May 27, 1944 and moved to their first church in Greenleaf, KS. During her lifetime they moved and served in the ministry in Alamosa, CO and Carlsbad, NM. In 1959 they moved from Carlsbad to Albuquerque to establish Christ Lutheran Church. Officiant for Alma's Funeral Service will be her son-in-law, Pastor Glenn Weber. Pallbearers will be her other four sons-in-law: Jeff Mullen, Dave Parmeter, John Lacher, and Ed DeLucas. Also serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Matt Parmeter, Ryan Busch, and Mark Newberry. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary at 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. The celebration service honoring Alma's life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church located at 7701 Candelaria NE on Thursday, January 26, 2006 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with burial at Sunset Memorial Park, 624 Menaul Blvd. NE.
