Obituary for SCOTT

Lynn Edward Scott, 72, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; two sons, Mark W. Scott and wife, Laura of Merritt Island, FL and Michael E. Scott and wife, Helen of Rio Rancho, NM; two-step granddaughters, Jennifer Jaramillo and husband, Rob of Denver, CO and Angela Pike and husband, Kevin of St. Joseph, MO and three step-great-grandchildren, Kendall Jaramillo, Cameron Pike and Samantha Pike. Lynn and Joan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December. Lynn was born September 20, 1933 in Albuquerque to B.L. "Scotty" and Virginia Scott and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1951. He received B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1956 and 1961. Lynn and Joan were married in Boulder, CO on December 19, 1955. Following his Army military service, he worked for the Bureau of Standards (now NIST) in Boulder, CO. From 1962 until 1969 he started MG Technical Products, as a joint venture of Linde AG and Messer Griesheim GMBH, both of West Germany. In 1976 he moved to Pennsylvania and joined Scott Specialty Gases where he worked until retirement in 1992 as Executive Vice President, General Manager Specialty Gases. Mr. Scott was also a commercial pilot and sailing enthusiast. Upon retirement, the Scotts became full time RVers for the next 13 years. Winters were spent mostly in Tucson, AZ where Lynn gave guided tours at the Pima Air Museum. They traveled with their 5th wheel trailer touring the United States, Canada and Mexico. Reluctantly giving up the roaming life due to his illness, they moved to a home in Albuquerque, NM. Graveside Services will be held Monday, January 9, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial gifts may be made to the church or charity organization of your choice.
