Joseph A. Garcia "Babe" age 76, was born July 23, 1929 to Joseph and Mary Garcia in Ignacio, CO. He passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 in Albuquerque. Joe was the eldest of 4 siblings. After high school he continued his education to become a registered nurse, he worked for over 25 years at St. Josephs Hospital, he retired as an RN. Preceded him in death, were his parents, a sister and his wife, Patricia. He is survived by his two brothers, Levi Garcia and his wife, Carol; a nephew, Layne and a niece, Danette of San Jose, CA; and John Diego Garcia, his wife, Mary; a nephew, John and five nieces, Jolene, Fran, Loretta, Thelma, and Juanita of Colorado Springs, CO. Joe had one son; four daughters; and five grandchildren; he was very close to his wife's family, the Bob and Martha Naranjo family of Rio Rancho, NM, the Nick and Lori Garcia family of Abilene, KS, the Frank and Rose Ellen Garcia family of Espanola, NM, Leroy and Beverly Garcia, Jeff Busby and George Garcia of Alamosa, CO. Joe "Babe" was known to be a kind compassionate man, devoted husband, loyal friend and a very gentle spirit. Rosary will be held at Romero Funeral home in Alamosa on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass and Burial will be held in Alamosa on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements were collaborated by Romero FH in Alamosa, CO.
