Obituary for LERMUSEAUX

LEO GENE. Born July 30, 1930 to Victor Lermuseaux and Mildred Dunman-Lermuseaux, he passed away after a lengthy battle with emphysema. Gene was raised and lived in Bernalillo his entire life. He graduated High School from OLOS, and studied auto mechanics with Victor and at various schools. He was in the USAF, security police. He met and married Ila Faye Steward in 1953. He taught Veterans auto mechanics and worked at the Bernalillo Public School systems as transportation director while working out of his home as an auto mechanic as well. Their children include Bruce and wife, Jenny of Jemez, Kurt and wife, Phyllis of Stanley, Karen of the family home, Sharon and husband, Ramon Garcia of Tijeras, Gene Jr. and wife, Renee of Bernalillo, Denise and husband, Ray Ralston of Rio Rancho, David of Dallas, TX, and Tina and husband, Greg Boyce of Austin, TX. Grandchildren include Julie, Bruce, Amy, Jason and wife, Tori, Ramon, Abraham, Aaron, Andrew, Rachel, Ryan, and Garrett; and many nieces and nephews. Gene is survived by his wife, Faye; mother, Mildred; sisters, Zaida Williams and Betty Kelly and husband, Melvin. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor; brother, Louie; and brother-in-law, Bob Williams. Gene loved the family ranch in the Jemez Mountains, especially working his own little sawmill with his boys, and his woodworking. He loved and supported his family and taught them the importance of hard work and family. He brought many caring friends into the family fold, and was always ready to help anyone with an auto or building need. He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Dr. A.
