Obituary for CHAVEZ

David L. Chavez died Monday, January 2, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 94. David was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; his first wife, "Tati"; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Michelle Romero. David and Tati were lifetime members of the San Felipe Altar Society and the Sacred Heart League. David was the first Eucharistic Minister at San Felipe. Mr. Chavez is survived by his sons, David E. Chavez and George Bernard Chavez; daughters, Marian Montano and husband, Mel, and Elizabeth Romero; brothers, Alfred Chavez and wife, Virginia, and Eloy Chavez and wife, Rose; sister, Margaret Montoya and husband, Anselmo; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Chavez, Richard Chavez, George Chavez, Gabriel Zamora, Matthew Zamora, and Phil Montano.
