Obituary for SMITH

Chester Justice Smith, 87, of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 at a local care facility. He was born January 16, 1918 in Fallon, NV to Edwin E. and Berta Smith. Mr. Smith married Carrie D. Hensley on August 21, 1944 in Great Bend, KS. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, coming from the Houston, TX. Mr. Smith was an electronics technician for Sandia National Lab, retiring in 1975 after 23 years of service. He was also a Veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Smith enjoyed the out of doors, rock hunting, making jewelry and camping. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Carrie D. Hensley-Smith; daughter, Donna L. Loftus and her husband, Richard, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Randy Zellner, Melissa Zellner; great-granddaughter, Jillian Rodriquez; and nephews, Monte and Elaine McDowell, and Robert and Clarlene McDowell. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. According to Mr. Smith's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal memorial services scheduled at this time. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
