Marian Romero, age 71, a resident of Contreras, NM, passed away on December 22, 2005. Marian and her husband, Bences, served as active members at Our Lady of Sorrows in La Joya and also served as mayordomos at San Jose Catholic Church in Contreras for successive years. Although she served her church faithfully in time, she was also devoted to taking care of her mother and husband. Marian was preceded in death by her loving son, Kenneth Romero; mother, Paublita T. Moya; nephew, Christopher Torres; step-father, Lorenzo Moya; brothers, Cayetano and Juan Torres; and father, Ramon Torres. She is survived by her husband, Bences Romero; her dear grandchildren, Kristen, Kenny, Dustin, and Paula Romero; daughter-in-law, Esther Romero; brother, Tony Torres, and wife, Priscilla; and many nieces and nephews. All Services will be held at San Jose Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 beginning with a viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Contreras Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny and Dustin Romero, Elmo Griego, and Tony, David, and Adam Torres. The honorary pallbearer will be Chris Torres. Romero Funeral Home 609 N.
