Pita R. Serrano, 84, died on her birthday Saturday, December 10, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Simon Serrano Jr.; daughter, Gloria J. Powell and husband, Jerry T., and Anna Pickette and husband, John R., all of Albuquerque; son, Arthur Serrano and wife, Dawn of Lorton, VA; grandchildren, Christopher Chavez, Erika Reynolds, Stacie Greth, Jon Pickette, Nicolas Serrano and Amanda Serrano; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen R. Padilla of Albuquerque, Florence Lucero and husband, Laute of Santa Rosa, and Patsy Campos of Santa Fe. Mr. and Mrs. Serrano are longtime parishioners at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She worked for many years for the Office of Senior Affairs, developing many long standing friendships, before retiring in 1991. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
