Louise Mestas went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2005 at the age of 84. She was born on August 21, 1921 in Las Vegas, NM. Mrs. Mestas was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Mestas. She is survived by her children, Ida Ford and husband, Ross, Cathy Gonzales and husband, Esequiel, Samuel Mestas and wife, Gloria, Shirley Woody and husband, Wayne, Joseph Mestas and wife, Lorraine, Patricia Sena and husband, Eloy, Marleen Martinez and husband, Ted, Coleen Benavidez and husband, Tom, John Mestas and wife, Bertha, Mark Mestas and Tina Martinez and husband, Jerry; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Louise will be deeply missed by all. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Samuel A. Mestas, Joseph L. Mestas, Jerry L. Mestas, Ross W. Ford, Leonard A. Mestas and May Mestas.
