Bernard Gershin, 79, a 36-year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Leigh Gershin; sons, Sam Gershin and wife, Verrity of Albuquerque and Ira Gershin and wife, Marcy of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, Reuben, Joseph, Aaron, Rachel, Beth, and Daniel; sister, Dorothy Baruch; brother, Alvin Gershin; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and B'nai Israel Synagogue. He was a loving husband and father. Bernie enjoyed collecting everything from rocks to cactus. Most of all, he enjoyed being a Zayda (grandfather). Bernie will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2005 at B'nai Israel, 4401 Indian School Rd. NE, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Shiva Service for Bernie will be held at the home of Sam and Verrity Gershin on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Kidney Foundation of NM, 1150 Grand Ave. Suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64106.
