Obituary for GUTIERREZ

Jose F. "Joe" Gutierrez, age 84, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Josephine Gutierrez; son, Aaron Garcia and wife, Sandra; daughters, Ruth Candelaria, all of Albuquerque, NM and Ida Marie Gutierrez (Clifford) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Mario, Dominic, Juan, III, Amanda, Brittney, Christopher, and Cory, and great-granddaughter, Kayla. He is also survived by his sisters, Delores Salazar and husband, Donald, Tillie Wisniewski and husband, Frank, and Pita Sanchez. Mr. Gutierrez served in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the Sheriff of Guadalupe County and had retired from the Transportation Department of the State of New Mexico. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Gutierrez was greatly loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 6, 2005, 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 7, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew, Michael Sanchez.
