David Maciel, 97, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2005, after a long and fulfilling life. This farmer-at-heart's passions included hunting, fishing, working with his hands as he built his family's homes, and caring for his beloved dogs. He served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy, after which he worked as a salesman of plumbing & heating supplies throughout NM. He is survived by sons, David, Jose (Rudy), and Mario; daughters, Laura Martinez, Tillie Mertens and husband, Don, and Caroline Benson; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sadie Estrada. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his son, Benjamin; and his daughter, Aurora (Votie) Gonzales. Services will be held on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
