Delores Jaharaus Quist September 29, 1927 - November 24, 2005 Delores Quist, 78, passed away November 24, 2005, at the Life Care Center of Farmington, NM. She was born September 29, 1927, in Mankato, MN, to Ernest and Stella Jaharaus. In 1929, the family moved to Albuquerque. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1945 and went on to attend Research Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO. She graduated in 1949. Delores returned to Albuquerque where she met Dale L. Quist. They were married in Albuquerque at First Presbyterian Church, March 17, 1950. They moved to California in 1955, residing in Sacrament, where she worked as a registered nurse and Dale worked in commercial banking, while raising two children. They returned to New Mexico in 1977, moving to Farmington where Delores worked in real estate for SoWesCo Realty until 1989. Delores was an avid reader and bridge player, and she and Dale enjoyed traveling and social activities. She was preceded in death by her parents. Delores is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Ruth Quist and husband, Bruce, of Big Fork, MT; son, David and wife, Marcie, of Vass, NC; sister, Pauline Hancock of Farmington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Frank Hayes and Rev. Tura Hays officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
