Peggy L. Chavez went to join her husband Leo Chavez in heaven November 19, 2005. Those who knew her would say that she had the most generous and giving heart of anyone they had ever known. She chose to take in the children of her siblings when her siblings passed away and raised other children as well. Peggy was filled with patience and was love personified as she kept her home filled with children. She made each of us feel special and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son Ernest Lucero. She is survived by children, Herman Lucero (Stella), Max Lucero (Mary), James Lucero (Tina), Nora Malin (Lew), Mary Atler (Albert), Rosalie Maestas, Donna Cocchia (Rocco); daughter-in law Margaret Lucero; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary--Westside Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd.
