Obituary for RIMBERT ROMERO

Sylvia Marie Rimbert Romero, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, teacher, friend, and friend to all animals. Sylvia was born in Las Vegas, NM, daughter of Anne Mary Rimbert and Manuel J. Romero. As a young girl, she worked for the retail clerks for 20 years in Albuquerque, NM, while at the same time, raising daughters. She continued with her education, graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in education, and later a Master's Degree in Education from San Francisco State University. After moving to California from New Mexico, she worked for the San Mateo County Office of Education as the Bilingual Coordinator for several years before becoming an elementary teacher in Redwood City for 23 years before retiring to take care of her beloved, aging mother, Mary Rimbert. She was a loving Mother and Mother-in-Law to Cynthia Yvonne Martinez-Dunn of Sacramento, CA, Deborah Susan and Mickey Manry of Union City, CA and Rachael and Adam Greene of San Antonio, TX; Dear Sister to Albino Romero of Colorado, Marcela Gonzales of Union City; Cherished Sister-in-Law to Tony Gonzales of Union City; Adoring Grandmother to Jonathan (Jonah) R. and Jennifer M. (Lulu) Manry, Ethan and Mason Greene; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, friends, and animal friends. She left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone. She will be forever in our hearts and lovingly missed. Visitation will be Monday November 21, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA with a Vigil at 7 p.m. Mass will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St Edwards Church, 5788 Thornton Avenue in Newark, CA. Burial will follow to Holy Cross Cemetery 1100 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park, CA.
