Kenneth Charles Wilkins, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 10, 2005. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Edie McCormick Wilkins. She was the love of his life. He was the heart and soul of hers. They were truly one. You never saw one without the other. They were the living example of a couple who were so in love. They knew the blessings they had shared in this wonderful life together. Ken was a loving father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is survived by Jeffery Wilkins and wife, Janine and their children, Jacob and Maggie; Gregory Wilkins and partner, Jacqui Carey; Eric Wilkins and wife, Trish and their children, Cathan and Elena; daughter, Julie Weirick and husband, Scott. Ken is also survived by his adopted Arizona family, the Ficher's and countless other friends. He will join his grandparents, especially Nonnie, and Edie's father, Bud McCormick in Heaven. Ken was a salesman who wanted to meet the educational needs of his customers. He created special relationships with them. Ken was a man who showed generosity and helpfulness, without seeking recognition. He was both a storyteller, whether they be tall or short, and a very compassionate listener. He's listened to family and many friends over the years and tried to help in any way he could. Ken loved witty jokes, puns and "daddy-humor." He liked to tease and was always ready for laughter. Ken was an adventurous soul and with his wife, traveled far and wide; he never met a stranger. Ken was the Music Man who sang in barbershop quartets, had a song for every situation, and danced to his own music! Ken played football in high school and continued his love of sports by being a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls, Green Bay Packers, and Boston Celtics.
