Emma Chavez, age 78, wife of Jacobo Chavez, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, November 4, 2005. She was a native of Albuquerque and was born December 17, 1927. Emma was a devoted mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Cordova and two sons, David and Richard. Emma survived by her children, Elizabeth and husband, Joe Duran, Charles and wife, Viola, Steve, Ana Washburn, Antoinette, Joan and husband, Ernest A. Navarrete and Claire. Emma leaves behind 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Lovao and Dorothy Martinez; brothers, Martin and Tony Chavez; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. A Rosary for Mrs. Chavez will be recited at Queen of Angels Church, 12th St. and I-40 NW., on Tuesday evening, November 8, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Gonzales, Nathan and Laurence Chavez, Daniel and Richard Navarrete, and David Washburn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sacha Washburn, Uraina Gallegos, and Markco Urban.
