Viola Ortiz, age 85, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, departed this world to enter into Eternal Life with the Lord, Saturday, October 29, 2005, while surrounded by her loving family. Viola was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM; and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking the special meals her family loved never wanting to cut corners when it came to cooking, or canning her fruits and vegetables. Viola was the backbone of the family, always giving her loving care and support. Viola is survived by her loving children, Randy Ortiz and wife Margie, Juliet Carrillo and husband Horacio, Melvin Ortiz and wife Caty, Robert Ortiz and wife Cindy, Clyde Ortiz, Rosalyn Ortiz, and Marlyn Tonner and husband Bob; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other beloved family members and friends. Viola will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary for Viola will be recited Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Ortiz, Gregory Carrillo, Brian Cordero, Joe P. (Junior) Ortiz, Phillip Ortiz, and Marco Ortiz.
