George A. McSparran, age 62, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 with his family by his side. George served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He was a kindhearted man who enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Justin Baca, reading, cooking, and restoring late model cars. He was a well known area auto body painter, working for several paint shops throughout the valley. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald A. McSparran; his sister, Eunice Hare; and his brother, Dennis McSparran. George is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Kathie; his son, Michael McSparran of Los Lunas; his daughters, Jamie Baca of Belen, and Rebecca McSparran of Illinois; four grandchildren, Justin, Ian, Arthur, and Deja; his mother, Catherine McSparran; two sisters, Nancy Moser and husband, Loren of Panarama City, CA, and Kathy Hippard of Fullerton, CA; and one brother, Harold McSparran. A private viewing will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a visitation from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2005.
