Obituary for CRONIN

Paul S. Cronin, 68, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on October 11, 2005. Born on May 14, 1937 in Everett, MA, north of Boston, he was the youngest child of Frank and Florence Cronin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, David. He attended Boston Latin High School, Tufts University, and obtained his Law degree from Boston College. In 1961, he traveled through New Mexico and was enchanted. He moved to Albuquerque a year later and joined the law firm of Sheehan & Duhigg where he met long time friend John Duhigg. Paul and John formed their own law firm Duhigg & Cronin in 1972, which grew into the largest plaintiff's law firm in the state at one time. Paul was a longtime member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has passionately served many clients over his 43-year career and has been responsible for establishing new laws that have benefited New Mexico families. Paul married his second wife, Kyong in 1996 and enjoyed many years of happiness with her. During his life he enjoyed reading and playing golf, as well as being with friends and family. He also had a lifetime passion for history and politics. He was a true gentleman and was generous to both family and friends. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, intellect, and compassion. Paul is survived by his wife, Kyong Cronin; his daughter, Nancy Cronin Wagner who continues practicing law at Duhigg, Cronin, Spring & Berlin; his son, Brian Cronin of San Francisco, CA; and step-daughters, Jaqueline Abeyta and Jennifer Cunningham, both of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Avenue SE in Albuquerque, NM. Following the Memorial Service there will be an interment at Sunset Memorial, 924 Menaul Boulevard NE. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be directed to Habitat for Humanity, 204 San Mateo Boulevard SE, Suite E, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
