David James Baca, Jr., 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was called to eternal life on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Village at Alameda Assisted Living Center. He graduated from Albuquerque High School where he was on the football team. He also attended the Military Institute and New Mexico State University. Dave was a World War II veteran. He retired after 35 years from the Employment Security Commission. Dave was a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community. He was a loving father and grandfather and wonderful neighbor and friend. He will be missed and always remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his three sons, David and his wife, Gloria, Albert and his wife, Linda and Michael and his wife, Judith and five grandchildren, Alison, Michelle, David James IV, Patrick and Melanie. He is also survived by his former wife, Nelda Baca. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, October 12, 2005, 6:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, October 13, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Father Richard Olona will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. until time of Rosary.
