Wanita Lucille Newman passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005 in Yukon, OK with her eldest granddaughter, Julie, at her side. Mrs. Newman was born February 12, 1909 in Jerseyville, IL. She was preceded in death in 1988 by her husband of 62 years, Emery A. Newman. They were residents of Albuquerque, NM for many years. She is survived by her son and his wife, Don and Joanne Newman of Chickasha, OK; her daughter and her husband, Christy and Steve Pickett of Placitas, NM; grandchildren, Julie Horn of Oklahoma City, OK, Donna Hayes of Newcastle, OK, Neale Pickett of Los Alamos, NM, April Otero of Denver, CO; and seven great-grandchildren. Private family Services were held Thursday, October 6, 2005 at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, in Albuquerque. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park.
