Praxedes 1906-2005 Praxedes Padilla, a longtime resident of Belen, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 4, 2004 in the presence of her children. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and belonged to the Blessed Sacrament Society. She was born in La Joya, NM to Juan Thomas Griego and Tomasita Barela Griego on December 7, 1906. Praxedes was preceded in death by her husband, Sesario; son Wilfred; and daughter-in-law, Eva. She is survived by two sons, Martin and wife, Corinne and Evisalio, all of Belen; grandchildren, Anthony and wife, Melva of Littleton, CO, Angela and husband, Rod Brown of Albuquerque, Martin Ray and wife, Deborah of Pompano Beach, FL, Paula of Albuquerque, Mary Frances and husband, Tony Coen of Glendale, AZ, Patricia and husband, Don Cullen of Las Cruces, NM, Armando and wife, Christina of La Mirada, CA, and Mario, also of La Mirada, CA. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alysa Reyes, Bryan and Eva Cullen, and Cayah and Xavier Padilla of Littleton, CO. A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Padilla will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, where a viewing will begin at 8:30 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the church with a viewing beginning at 6:30 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave, 864-4448.
