Lola B. Smith, 75, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2005. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church since 1954 where she was active in Sunday school teaching, Vacation Bible school teaching, and also worked on the church newsletter. She was also active as a volunteer in the public schools, working with school libraries and the PTA. She was a devoted and loyal wife to her husband, Myrl, to whom she was married for 56 years. She is survived by her husband, Myrl; a son, Ron and his wife, Judy; a son, Jerry; a daughter, Jana Perry and her husband, Frank; a son, Randy and his wife, Micki; a sister, Norma Whitman; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father; Derwin Leroy Slyter and her mother, Lily Noble Slyter. Celebration of Life services will be held Monday, October 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary University Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, October 2, 2005 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Central United Methodist Church Youth Group 1615 Copper Ave. NE 87106.
