Harold W. Ponthan, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother, age 87, of Rio Rancho, NM, formerly of St. Paul, MN. Passed away on September 23, 2005. Preceded in death by son, Steven, USN; brothers, Dean, Paul, and Quentin. Beloved husband of Beryl for 63 years; loving father of David (Mary), Richard (Diane); dear grandfather of Keighley, Aron, Matthew, Christina, Sarah, and Ryan; also numerous nieces and nephews; brother of Marjorie (Eugene) Dugan. Memorial Service Monday, October 3, 2005, 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque, 215 Locust St. NE. Reception to follow the Service. An avid outdoorsman and community volunteer, Harold was a St. Paul YMCA Camp Widjiwagan staffer. Board chairman, and contributor for most of his life. He was a 53 year member of Central Presbyterian Church in St. Paul and an 11 year member of First Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque. He was also volunteer and leader in Boy Scout Troop 40 in St. Paul, an officer in the US Army Corp of Engineers at Fort Leonarwood, MO, and will be missed by many.
