CANDELERIA. Mrs. Candeleria Perea, age 82, of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, September 30, 2005 at a local hospital. She was born June 9, 1923 in Tapia, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Theodoro and Ignasita Tapia. She married Juan Perea, and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2005. She is survived by her daughters: Priscilla and her husband, Gary Stansbury of Albuquerque, Rosemary Perea of Albuquerque, Nancy and husband, Filbert Martinez of Rio Rancho, Maryellen Rodriguez of San Bernadino, CA; her son: Raymond and wife, Terri Perea of San Bernadino, CA; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; a longtime family friend: Marleen Apodaca of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her son: Louis Perea in 1978; her grandson, Samuel Rodriguez in 1981; also several brothers and sisters. She attended San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town for many years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, needle point, quilting, and dancing. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 4, 2005, 1:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover SW. The Rosary Service will be recited on Monday evening October 3, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary University Chapel. Pallbearers will be: Joseph Perea, Roberto Martinez, Joe Anaya, Matthew Wright, John Rodriguez, and Raymond Perea Jr. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. till the time of the Rosary.
