Obituary for LEACH

H. Carolyn Leach passed away on September 21, 2005 after 12 years of living with ovarian cancer. Carolyn, 75, and her loving husband, Doyce, have lived in Albuquerque since 1983. Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family: Brian (USN, Retired) and Deborah Leach; the Revs. Shannon and JoAnn Leach; Anne and Paul Kundtz; and Stewart and Lea Leach. Tom, Andrew, Matt, Molly, Christopher, and Patrick will also miss their Grandma. Born on July 8, 1930 in Chicago, IL, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Brig. General Glen C. McBride and Winifred S. McBride. Carolyn attended the University of Missouri where she was involved in the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and where she met Doyce, a Delta Upsilon. In 1952, Doyce and Carolyn married in Dallas, TX. The couple spent the next 19 years living in California, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Nebraska. She and Doyce moved to Albuquerque in 1983. Carolyn was a docent at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and Natural History. She enjoyed her affiliation with Chapter AA of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Tri Delta Sorority. She and Doyce were members of the Albuquerque Country Club and she was honored to be a member of the Albuquerque Old Glass and Tuesday Literary Club. Carolyn and Doyce belong to The Cathedral Church of St. John where she was a Lay Minister and former Director of the Altar Guild. Carolyn's Memorial Service will be held at St. John's on September 29, 2005 at 3 p.m., immediately followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Cathedral Altar Guild or to the Albuquerque Museum Foundation.
