Obituary for ROWE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday September 18, 2005

Louise F. Rowe, 10-year resident of McIntosh, NM, left her family to live forever with her savior Jesus on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. She was 76 years old. Louise was born March 14, 1929, in Missoula, MT, to Ivan Victor Isaacs and Alta Mae Cromwell Isaacs. She attended high school at Thompson Falls, MT, graduated from Grossmont High School, El Cajon, CA, in 1947, and lived much of her early life in Montana, California, Colorado, and Washington State. In 1957 she married Gerald Kestell, and in 1969 Louise and her family moved to Los Alamos. Louise and Jerry divorced in 1983. Louise drove a bus for the Los Alamos School District for eleven years until her retirement in 1992, and lived a selfless life for her children and grandchildren. In 1989 Louise married the love of her life, Charles Rowe. Their shared faith in Jesus bound their hearts and lives together. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marie Isaacs Woodlock. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Rowe; a sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Baird, Missoula, MT; her five children, Peg Hume of Los Alamos, Vikki Kestell of Albuquerque, Ken Kestell of Albuquerque, Pat Kestell of Los Alamos, and Laura Lea Haag of Bernalillo; daughters-in-law, Susan P. Kestell and Susan G. Kestell; son-in-law, Conrad Smith; 13 grandchildren, Maaike Hurst Garcia, Charis Hurst, Timothy Hurst, Jennifer Uher, Christina Uher, Stephen Kestell, Nicholas Kestell, Daniel Kestell, Desiree Haag, Philip Kestell, Michael Kestell, Joseph Haag, Thomas Haag; one great-grandchild, Benjamin Garcia; grandson-in-law, David Garcia; and granddaughter-in-law, Brandi Hurst. Her children and grandchildren will never forget all the camping trips, holidays and, whenever possible, family game days filled with laughter and togetherness. Louise's family will celebrate her life on September 24, 2005, 1 p.m., at Tramway Community Church, 4800 Tramway Ridge NE, NM, 87111. Louise's family would appreciate, in lieu of flowers, a small donation to Prison Fellowship Ministry, by mail at PO Box 1550, Merrifield, VA, 22116-1550, or online at www.pfm.org. This important ministry brings the message of forgiveness and hope through Jesus to inmates and their families across the nation. Around 1970 Louise found an intimate relationship with God through his Son Jesus and was an example of faith and love to her family and all who knew her. Her family found these words she had written in the flyleaf of her Bible: "Only one life; will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."
