Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday September 13, 2005

Peggy Jeanne, 63, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2005. She died peacefully at the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice unit, surrounded by her family. Peggy graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1960. She moved to Grants, NM in 1968 with her husband and children to pursue a business opportunity. She was active in the family business for several years. Peggy was a creative person and had many artistic hobbies. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed the outdoors and her precious pets. But her greatest love in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and "Grammy." There were many family vacations with her children and grandchildren filled with fun and laughter. Her grandchildren were precious to her and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. It was her strong love of life and family that sustained her through a courageous 7 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Phil, of Grants; two children, Kevin Parkhurst and wife, Andrea, and Lori Galves and husband, Gus of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Eric and Devin Galves, and Amber Parkhurst; brothers, Gary Sloan of Los Lunas and Don Sloan of Petaluma, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Sloan Fulton, and father, Millard Sloan. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, 87112. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. She will be greatly missed by all the hearts she touched. We love you and will miss you. Until we meet again. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
