Dorothy Lea Long, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep September 3, 2005. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and was born in Barton, New Mexico on December 19, 1913. Her parents, Wallace B. and Ida Jones, were homesteaders in the Barton area. She was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and received her teaching certificate from New Mexico Highlands University. She retired from Federal Civil Service as a secretary at Sandia Base. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Long; her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Dee Dee Rich of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Cory Rich and his wife, Polly, Julie Padilla and her husband, Victor, all of Albuquerque, and Lisa Smith and her husband, Doug of Parker, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren; Ashley Rich, Enzo and Otto Padilla, and Taylor and Mason Smith. Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE 275-3500
