Alta C. Strom, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2005, after a bout of pneumonia and ensuing respiratory distress. She was born on June 28, 1909, to Alice and John Crawford in Langdon, ND. She graduated from Langdon High School in 1926 and married Hilmer Strom on July 4, 1929. Alta spent many dedicated years with US Civil Service at both Sandia Base and Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, she worked base housing, personnel, and classified documents; she retired in June, 1974. Alta most recently resided at Mountain House, an assisted living care facility in NE Albuquerque. She is survived by her son, Jack of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Steven, and Julie, all of Washington State; and six great-grandchildren. Alta will be missed by her relatives, friends, caregivers, and Ashley (her cat) and will be remembered as a caring and giving person. Cremation has been scheduled.
