Obituary for CURCIO

Katherine "Kay" J. Curcio, 54, died August 19, 2005, after a long illness. She was at home, surrounded by her family, at her time of her death. Kay is survived by her husband of 27 years, Joe; her daughters, Anna Marie Curcio, Theresa Curcio; sisters, Peggy Morris-Gonzalez, Patti Morris-Moreno, and Debbie Valencia; her mother-in-law, Shirley Curcio; many nephews and nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Katherine Morris; grandson, Morgan Lee; brothers, Tom and Mickey. An Albuquerque native, Kay attended St. Mary's, St. Vincent's, St. Pius X, the University of Albuquerque, and graduated from TVI school of Inhalation Therapy. She served three years in the Navy as a CORPSWAVE. Kay met her future husband, Joe, while stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. She was a Navy wife for 17 years, returning to Albuquerque when Joe retired from the Navy. Kay enjoyed gardening, animals, arts and crafts and cooking, especially making cookies and fudge and sending them to family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Anne Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Curcio, Brian Morris, Kevin Morris, Gordon Eden, Travis Eden and Larry Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers are Tiffany Gutierrez and Meghan Morris-Moreno.
