Obituary for NOEL

Bob Noel, well known New Mexico horse trainer and beloved Husband and Father, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, August 21, 2005 in Ruidoso, NM. Bob was loved by all who knew him and was a good friend of many, many, people. Bob was born in Grants, NM on September 26, 1938, and lived all of his life in New Mexico. He began working on New Mexico ranches at the age of eight. He married Wyona " Onie" Canon on September 13, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy and father, Alvin Noel. Bob is survived by his wife, Onie Noel of Mesilla Park, NM; and his three sons, Danny Noel of Cedar Crest, NM, Wayne Noel and Bobby Noel, both of Mesilla Park, NM; four sisters, Wanda Gressett of Sallisaw, OK, Mary Billingsley of Albuquerque, Anna Jo Woodward of Lexington, OK, and Louise Burrel of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren: Cody Noel and Crystal Noel; and many nieces and nephews. He was a man with strong family morals and principals. Memorial Service for Bob will be Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ruidoso Down Race Track Turf Club at 1:00 p.m. The family has requested memorials in Bob's name be mailed to Equine Encore Foundation, in care of Patty Shirley, 3225 N. ElBurrito, Tucson, AZ 85705 or hand delivered to the New Mexico Horseman's Association Bookkeeper at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack.
