Joe P. Chavez, age 77, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 14 years, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2005. Joe is survived by one sister-in-law, Pauline Chavez; four brothers, Frank Chavez of Texas, Edward Chaves, Sam Chavez and Felix Chavez, all of California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Laura Chavez; brothers, Thomas, Victor, Jessie, and Dennis Chavez; and by one sister, Mary. A Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at San Jose Church in Duranes, 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW.
