Joseph Jose Henry Gomez "Jose", was born September 29, 1948 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. A resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico since 1974, Jose proudly served his country in the US Army from 1968 to 1971. He was a fantastic artist who loved illustrating comics and other books and he thoroughly enjoyed maintaining the Las Vegas Hot Springs. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Carmen Gomez; his brother, Jerry Gomez; and his two nephews, A.J. and Miguelito Gomez. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Gallegos and husband, John Paul of Taos, NM; three brothers, Ernest Gomez and wife, Evelyn of Albuquerque, Andrew Gomez and wife, Jan of Medanales, NM, David Gomez and wife, Janine of Santa Fe, NM.; three nieces, Louisa, Deanne and Stephanie; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held at the Hot Springs in Las Vegas, New Mexico on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 10:00am. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
