BARBARA LAMON WELLS, age 77, the Daughter of Estel Conrad Lamon and Martha Jane Ballard was born on February 17, 1928 in La Grange, GA and entered eternal life quietly in Chaparral, NM on Sunday, August 7, 2005. Barbara and her husband, Don G. Wells, USAF retired in Albuquerque in the late 1970s. Barbara is survived by her brother, E.C. Lamon of New Braunfels, TX and his wife, Regine who is also a fond friend. Mrs. Wells is also survived by her four children: Martha Laura and her husband, Danny L. Rhodes of Chaparral, NM; Timothy Leslie Wells, Michael Lewis Wells and his wife, Valerie, both of Kentucky; and Melissa Leigh and her husband, Michael Mercer of Everett, WA. Mrs. Wells is the proud grandmother of Anthony V. Bennett, USAF currently stationed in Korea and his wife, Eugenia of Romania who are also the proud parents of Mrs. Wells' great grandchild, Justin A. Bennett; Laura Leigh Shrespha and her husband, Naraj of Nepal who now reside in Waltham, MA; Devon Siokahn Mercer and Chandan Michael Mercer of Everett, WA. Mrs. Wells is also survived by her "partner in crime" Callie, the poodle; and six cats who prefer to remain low profile. Mrs. Wells was an avid collector of movies, music, curios, and anything Star Trek. Although hampered by physical disabilities in life, Barbara was a soul whose presence could fill a room and she was a force to be reckoned with. Visitation for Mrs. Wells will be held Monday, August 15, 2005 beginning at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Boulevard NE in Albuquerque where the Funeral Service is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery with The Reverend Peter Schoew officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be family and friends. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces. 527-2222.
