Obituary for MOENY

Christine E. (Betty) Moeny, age 85. Betty Moeny died August 6, 2005 under hospice care at the home of her son, Jim Moeny, in Cottonwood, AZ. She was born October 22, 1919 in Hooper, CO to Billy and Ellen Wilson. She married William C. Moeny in 1940 and they had four children. Her first teaching assignment, after graduating from Adams State College, was in Avondale, CO. A lifelong educator, she retired as Professor of Library Science from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO. She lived in Albuquerque, NM for the last fifteen years. Betty loved to read and traveled extensively, frequently visiting friends and family. She was a member of Eastern Star and was a PEO Golden Girl. She was a very active member of Grace Church. A happy, outgoing person, Betty never met anyone who was not a friend. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Bill (Mary Lee) Moeny of Albuquerque, NM, Jim Moeny of Cottonwood, AZ, Susan (Dave) Hawkins of Valley Center, CA, and Nancy Nash of Alamosa, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Moeny of College Station, PA, Susanna (Michael) Hinkle, Phoenix, AZ, Stephen (Echo) Moeny of Albuquerque, NM, Patty McGuire of Phoenix, AZ, Amanda McGuire of Taichung, Taiwan; and one great-grandson, Michael William Moeny, of College Station, PA. Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio in Albuquerque. There will be a graveside internment on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Monte Vista, CO Cemetery. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Christine E.
