He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jean Anne; daughters, Wendy and Susan; son, Eric; son-in-law, Lionel; daughters-in-law, Sharon and Melinda; cherished grandchildren, Jillian, Samantha, Logan, and Sasha; sisters, Maryanne and Judy; and many cousins. Born in Scranton, PA on October 7, 1932, he was raised in New York City where he developed his love and talent for music and singing. It was love at first sight in 1951 when he met his future wife in Manhattan. Soon after, he was shipped to the Philippines with the Coast Guard where he worked as a radar specialist. He graduated in 1955 from RCA Electronic Institute, and soon after went to work for IBM as a computer programmer/system analyst. At age 60, after 35 years of service, he retired from IBM. Richard was a master craftsman, and renovating his Victorian home in New York was his passion. He also loved the outdoors, and spent many happy times camping with his family. He will be missed for his great sense of humor and deep devotion to his family. Thank you to the medical community in Albuquerque for your expert care. You are the reason we had Richard in our lives for the past 12 years. A special thank-you to Dr. Gabrys for your friendship, compassion, and wisdom to both Richard and his family. We will never forget you. Our deepest gratitude to the nurses and assistants on unit 800 at Kaseman-Presbyterian and 4 East at Presbyterian Hospital.
