Obituary for PETERS

William W. Peters 1918-2005 William W. Peters, age 87, passed away July 3, 2005, after a short illness. His parents, Elisha and Edna Peters; his wife, Alega; a brother, Dean Peters; and one sister, Jo Eddie Adair, preceded him in death. A daughter, Rebecca P. Echols, her husband, Donald, and two grandsons, William and Clayton Echols survive him. A son, Lee; three brothers, Gene and his wife, Natalie, Kenneth R. Peters, and J.W. Peters; one sister, Patsy Ruth Armstrong, and her husband, Ron, also survive him. A brother, Jack Peters, passed away shortly after William's passing, and is survived by his wife, Lois. Enlisted in the U.S. Army prior to WWII, he served in the Artillery and, later in the war, the Army Air Force. A combat veteran, he saw action in Europe with the Eighth Air Force as a B-24 Flight Engineer/Top Turret Gunner, and was Honorably Discharged in 1945. After a long career starting at Sandia Base for the Atomic Energy Commission, he retired from Sandia Corporation in 1975. A Memorial Gathering will be held for him on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Duncan Memorial Building on La Ladera Rd. in Los Lunas, NM.
