Ruth U. Weeden, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2005. She is survived by her children, Paul Weeden and wife, Barbara, and their children, Adam and Brandon of Phoenix, AZ; Susie Albin and husband, Keith of Ringling, OK; Janet Spence and husband, Larry and their children, Brent Apgar and Meg Lyman and husband, Brian; and Jim Weeden and his children, Scott and Tracy of Tucson, AZ. Four years after graduating from Fairfax High school in Los Angeles, CA, Ruth moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, just months before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She met her husband, Norman P. Weeden, while he was in Honolulu on R and R and they were married January 6, 1946 in Santa Fe, NM. The Forest Service took them all over the Southwest and they returned to Albuquerque in 1963. Divorced in 1968, Ruth went to work at Zork Hardware in accounts receivable and she retired in 1983. A fiercely independent woman, her keen sense of humor and love of bowling and dogs made her many friends.
