Ruth Leger Terry of McAlister, NM passed away peacefully on July 13, 2005, with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. She was born in Isador, NM to Francisco and Isabel Leger, who preceded her in death, as well as her first and second husbands, Frank Martinez and Flavious Terry. Also preceding her in death are her grandson, Mark Burmeister; her nephew, Gilbert Baca; and her brothers and sisters, Eloisa Leger Baca, Tony Leger, Louise Leger, Isabel Leger, Frank Leger, Pat Leger, and James Leger. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Burmeister; grandchildren Karl Burmeister and Janel Burmeister and her husband Charles Ingram; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Eloisa Ingram; her brothers and sisters, Joanne Lovato, Mary Lou Anaya, Ernest Leger and his wife Gloria, Nash Leger and his wife Anita, Richard Leger and his wife Mary Lou; her sister-in-law, Josephine Leger, Mela Leger and Esther Leger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She led a long and fruitful life, and was many things to many people: a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a faithful churchgoer, a successful business owner; a dedicated wife and partner. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, perseverance and will in adversity, and strong family and religious values. She was a vital part of the family she loved and cherished, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Rosary will be recited Monday, July 18, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Church, in Corrales, NM. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Nick Leger, Bobbie Leger, Dennis Anaya, Steve Baca, Charles Ingram and Gilbert Gutierrez. Honorary bearers will be Joanne Lovato, Ray Leger, Nash Leger, Mary Lou Anaya, Ernest Leger and Richard Leger. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Fr. Clarence Galli, the staff at Valle Norte Caring Center; and to the Amber Care Hospice Group, Scott Porter and Mary Bouquette in particular, for their kindness during this time.
