Obituary for GARCIA

Harry James Garcia died unexpectedly July 6, 2005. He is survived by his mother, Annie Garcia. He was preceded in death by his father, Toby Garcia and brother, Julian Garcia. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sheilah Garcia and several nephews and a niece. His nephews include Toby and wife Ellie of Albuquerque and their two sons; Garrett and his wife Allison of Raleigh/Durham, NC and their three daughters; Edward and Carlos of Albuquerque and their sister, Pilar of Dallas, TX. Many other relatives including his uncle, Pete Garcia; his aunt, Lizzie Herrera and her husband Juan; his aunt, Emily Nuanes; Joseph Nuanes and his wife Margie; his many cousins and loving friends were among Harry's favorite persons. Harry was born in Albuquerque and graduated from Valley High School in 1962; he attended UNM, and served active duty in the U.S. Army Reserves. Harry spent his life in the automobile business with his father and brother initially at Toby's Truck City and later became the first new car dealer exclusively for Honda. It was known at Harry's Honda in Albuquerque. He was appointed by Gov. Toney Anaya to serve on the New Mexico Racing Commission and served the new and used car dealers' associations for many years. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the surgical staff and physicians at Heart Hospital of New Mexico. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 7 p.m. at French Mortuary located at 1111 University Blvd. NE. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 10 a.m., at San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town. Arrangements are being made by French Mortuary in Albuquerque.
