Obituary for FINLEY

Ruth Hopkins Finley, 80, an Albuquerque resident since 1980, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 surrounded by her adoring family. Mrs. Finley was a native of Oklahoma from a pioneer family. She was proud of her Irish and Choctaw heritage. She is survived by a son, George Waddy and wife, Cheryl of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Leslie Cork and husband Chris of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alison Waddy, Michael Waddy, Ryan Cork, Patrick Cork, Sean Cork and Kelly Cork, who were the light of her life; dear sister, Holly Savage and husband Jim; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Waddy, a well-known aerospace engineer and by her husband, John Finley, an engineer and a member of the Piankashaw Indian Tribe; and brothers, Jack Hopkins and Freeny Hopkins. Besides being a wife and mother, Ruth was a self-made businesswoman and an amateur interior decorator. Ruth was famous for her sense of humor and her selflessness. Her love illuminated her family and friends lives. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. A reception will follow the service.
