Obituary for PETTINGELL

Barbara Ogden Pettingell passed away at her home Thursday, June 16th, 2005 at the age of 90. She was born in Auburn, New York on December 9, 1914. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.J. Ogden and Winifred Phelps Ogden; her brother, Richard Phelps Ogden; her sister, Blanche Ogden Smith; and a grandson, Brian Everett Pettingell. Surviving is her son, Robert Ogden Pettingell, his wife, Linda C. Pettingell of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ralph David Pettingell of Lubbock, Texas, Tracy Lynn Pettingell of Dallas, Texas; and her niece, Patricia Smith Owen of Elmira, New York. She is also survived by many dear friends whose love and support she has enjoyed all her life. She served in the Red Cross during World War II and was stationed in Yangkai, China with the 14th Air Force. After returning from the war, she moved to Albuquerque with her family and began Fly & Shell and Suntrails magazines. Later settling in Corrales, she was employed as a bookkeeper with Stromberg's Men's Wear. Cremation has taken place. At her request, there will be no services.
