Obituary for O'NEAL

James (Chet) O'Neal, 83, a resident of the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 peacefully in his sleep. He was born February 15, 1922 in Chanute, KS. Mr. O'Neal is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma O'Neal of the family home; daughter, Pat Cosima Leedom and husband, Jan Studebaker, all of Jemez; grandsons, Sam Kanner and wife, Kayla and Zach Kanner; brother, Carl C. O'Neal of Bellview, NE; many loved nieces and nephews; and special friends. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 26 years, and then maintained his interests in working in his shop and being outdoors. Mr. O'Neal will always be loved. Services will be held Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Private interment will take place. Memorial services will also be held at a later date.
