Vernal Elridge James, 81, died on Monday, May 23, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Muriel James of Albuquerque; children, Joseph, Vertiley, Marguerita, Muriel Jr., Alfred, Allyson and Norma; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Hugh; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. James is a long time member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, a member of the Coronado Club and the NCO Club. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired after 21 years. He retired after working 24 years at Sandia National Laboratories. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel on Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE (505) 275-3500
