Obituary for ZAMORA

Jose I. (Nash) Zamora, age 85, a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005, following an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by two sisters, Rufina Zamora of Bernalillo, NM and Lucy Montoya of Las Cruces, NM; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member and Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4243, a lifelong member of the Sandoval County Sheriff Posse, and a lifelong fan of the Bernalillo High School Basketball. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends; and always remembered as a caring and lovable man. Visitations will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Casket bearers will be Walter Montoya, Rudy Montoya, Erine Montoya, Rick Poolaw, Dave Serbin, and Rudy Tenerio.
